Authors/Readers: Join me for Operation Get Up and Move!

Happy Sunday, peeps!

Hope you're all enjoying a nice weekend.

If you follow me on Twitter or Facebook then there's a very good chance you've seen me tweet or post about my P90X workouts at least once over the past three months.

If not, here's the skinny:  I've been thin my entire life, but mushy, soft and completely out of shape cardio and strength wise. Heart disease runs rampant in my family as well as issues with blood pressure, anxiety etc.

I'm a couch potato. Scratch that. I was a couch potato.

As an author I spend a good portion of each morning on my butt in my chair writing. I'm not fond of sweating ( I'm a girlie girl) and I like my Diet Coke.

Three months ago I got a wild hair up my ass about exercising. Not sure what the catalyst was. I just finally decided I was unhappy getting winded as I climbed my stairs, and I wanted to do something that would relieve my daily battle against anxiety.

Insert P90X.

With three daughters who cheer, and various other expenses, my hubby and I don't have the money to purchase a gym membership. The P90X program was perfect because I could work out at home, not spend a ton of money and no one would have to see me make a fool of myself.

Oh, let me tell you...in the beginning...I was pathetic. In fact, I think I threw my body into shock the first day. But, after about a week, it wasn't so bad, and I eventually formed a habit I refuse to break.

I've lost a few pounds, several inches, and my anxiety has all but disappeared! Woot! I'm starting up a new round on September 5th and my challenge is this: get up off the couch and move with me! I don't care what you do.

Walk.

Run (not my personal fav, but it's great)

Do your own workout... doesn't matter what it is, just move.

I"m starting up a new 90 day regimen on September 6th and encourage you to join me! I created a workout blog at the beginning of my journey and have been posting there regularly. Join me! Chat with me about what you're doing. We're coming into the holiday season where delicious foods and parties are a plenty. Let's keep each other motivated and on track! Are you with me?

The link to my workout blog is posted on the right hand side of this blog near the top. I've also created a Facebook group for those who'd like to post and chat more frequently about their progress/journey/struggles etc. Message me if you'd like to join. Hope to see you there!!!!

Summer Scorcher Blog Tour week 4- Things that make you go "Ooooh!"

My erotic suspense, Obsessed, released March 29th of this year with Loose Id. It’s a fast-paced story filled with romance, suspense and a heavy dose of shemxin’ (hubba hubba!) It’s by far the hottest story I’ve penned, and I’m absolutely in love with the hero and heroine, Nick and Halley. Because of the spicy nature of the story, I thought it would be fun to talk about things that turn us on. Woohoo! You know what I’m talking about. Those certain traits, qualities in a person that rev your engine and send your girlie bits a tingling…fans self…  And let’s not forget two powerful aphrodisiacs:  music and food. Both are often used to set the mood in intimate situations.

Halley, the female lead in Obsessed has a thing for tattoos (tribal tattoos) if I want to be specific. The moment she notices Nick’s ink peeking out from beneath his shirt, it’s all over for her. Yes, his muscular physique and bad-boy demeanor are what initially pulled her in, but it was the swirling ink decorating his torso and arm that sealed the deal.

I see inked heroes more and more these days. What exactly is it about them that draws us in? For me, there’s almost something taboo about tattoos.  Growing up, I’d always thought of them as “forbidden”, much like the bad boys I’d admire from afar, but never dared to bring home. It’s exactly that “off-limits” quality I look for in my heroes. I like a leading man who’s a bit rough around the edges, who doesn’t conform. Nine times out of ten, my favorite hero has a past he’s trying to forget or an obstacle he’s trying to overcome. He wears his ink like armor, and for me, there’s nothing sexier. What about you? Do you like a hero with tattoos?

Leave a comment on this blog, as well as the other five blogs on the Scorcher Tour to be entered to win a free PDF copy of my erotic suspense, Obsessed. The winner’s name will then be forwarded into a final drawing at the end of the tour for a chance to win a $30 Amazon gift certificate.
(Book blurb) The victim of both a brutal attempted rape and now a serial stalking, Halley Davis is broken, and desperate to glue the shattered pieces of her life back together. Tormented by a psychopath and battling a heavy dose of anxiety, sex and dating are the last things on Halley’s anxiety-ridden mind. That is, until she meets the man who rescued her from the hands of a would-be rapist. With a body made for sin, a wicked, sexy tattoo and an aura that screams “badass,” her rescuer not only calms the storm of terror raging inside her mind, he ignites a passion within her she’s never known before.
Tired of using meaningless sex to drown out the horrors of his past, Nick Ackart has sworn off women. In fact, if women were classified as meat, his ass is Vegan. Despite his determination to remain unattached, Nick is unable to stay away from the emerald-eyed beauty he rescued from a sadistic pervert. Immersed in a tangled web of sexual desire and deep emotion he was certain was long dead, he vows to protect Halley from the monster hounding her, even though he stands to lose his heart in the process.

  • The purpose of the hop is to meet "new to you" authors and discover great new reads. Follow as many authors as you can. Leave a comment and introduce yourself!

Summer Scorcher Blog Tour week 3 with Amie Louellen- The 12 stages of intimacy

Welcome to part 2 of Amie Louellen's Summer Scorcher Blog post!

If this is your first stop, make sure to check out Amie's blog for the first post!!

All right I promised you the steps so here they are and yes, they are in a particular order—

1. Eye to Body

2. Eye to Eye

3. Voice to Voice

4. Hand to Hand

5. Arm to Shoulder

6. Arm to waist

7. Mouth to mouth

8. Hand to Head

9. Hand to Body

10. Mouth to Bosom

11. Hand to Erogenous Zones.

12. Consummation.

I admit, some of these are no brainers and some may be a little tame. But each stage is important in its own right. After all, you can’t get to step 7 without having passed step 1, now can you?

All of these steps are important , but most romance heroes and/or couples rush or skip steps. That’s what leads to the fun…er, I mean, trouble.

But you’ll have to go to the next blog in order to find out how much fun, uhum trouble rushing things got Brodie and Savanna into…

Amie is giving away a PDF copy of Brodie's Bride to one lucky commenter along the tour. You must leave a comment on each of the tour stops to be eligible to win. So, click those links, read some steamy excerpts and comment away! The winner will be entered into a drawing at the end of the tour for a chance to win a $30 Amazon GC!

You can purchase Brodie's Bride at:

How about we heat things up a bit? Here’s the excerpt from my contemporary romance, AFTER MIDNIGHT:

“I’m not the type of woman men fall for.”

“I’ve fallen for you.”

Heat flooded her system. She forced herself to breathe, to keep her eyes locked with his. “No you haven’t. You …”

He pushed off the mantel and stepped in her direction. “I—what?”

“Never mind.”

“Finish the sentence, Isabeau.”

“I don’t think so.”

“Then let me.” He closed the distance between them. “You were going to say I haven’t fallen for you, weren’t you? You actually believe him? That you’re nothing more to me than convenient?”

Her pulse throbbed thick and hard. Heat radiated off his body. The scent of him filled her head. She wanted, more than anything, to press herself against him and relive the pleasure of his mouth against hers. Instead, she lifted her chin.

“Maybe.”

He leaned in close. So close his breath brushed across her lips. “You believe him, but not me?”

“You are here only temporarily.”

“Yes.”

“And I am just down the street.”

“I suppose.”

She ran her tongue over her dry lips. “So the whole thing does seem rather—”

“Don’t say it.”

“—convenient.”

Something dangerous came and went in his eyes. “Now I’m getting angry.”

His hands skimmed down her sides, slipped under her shirt and settled on her lace-covered bottom. Her breath went uneven. Searing need swarmed her.

“You want something to believe, believe this.” He pulled her into the solid ridge of his erection. She lost her concentration. “There is nothing convenient about the way I feel about you.”

It doesn’t appear that Noah sees Izzy the same way she sees herself does it?
